Holistic Nutrition

My holistic approach to food and nutrition is unique. A healthy diet is not only about eating ‘healthy’ foods. Food is so much more than just a way to nourish our bodies. And it’s not always about food. What about our mindset, our beliefs around food and our mindfulness? Food is vibration. Food has healing properties. Which effects do certain foods have on our bodies? How can a specific holistic diet help heal our body? These and many more questions will be asked and answered in my private consultations and workshops.

GUT HEALTH - heal your gut, heal yourself!

I believe that it all starts with a healthy gut.  Our general health is influenced by our gut immensely. The bacteria in our gut controls 80 % of our immune system and it produces key nutrients, like B vitamins, neurotransmitters, vitamin C and E, which are crucial for a healthy immune system. So, if the microbiome is unbalanced and the gut is damaged, this will lead to severe health problems, starting with conditions in our gut, including:

  • IBS (Irretable Bowl Syndrome)

  • SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth),

  • LGS (Leaky Gut Syndrome) and

  • Candida overgrowth

 

The symptoms and causes for these conditions are different for each type, but they all lead to major inflammation in our intestines, which result in chronic diseases and conditions such as:

  • Skin conditions, such as eczema, rosacea, acne

  • Poorly functioning thyroid (incl. Hashimoto´s)

  • Chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain

  • Type 1 and 2 diabetes

  • Food allergies and sensitivities

  • Crohn´s disease, Lupus, Autism

  • Alzheimers

  • Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis

  • Rheumatiod arthritis

  • etc.

FERMENTED FOODS

Fermented foods contain the good bacteria we need for a healthy and balanced microbiome. The more fermented foods we eat with our diet, the better. Fermented foods include:

  • Sauerkraut

  • Fermented vegetables

  • Kimchi

  • Kefir

  • Water Kefir

  • Kombucha

  • Tempeh

  • Miso 

I invite you to do your own fermenting because many of the products  you can buy are pasteurized, which kills the good bacteria. Home made sauerkraut contains trillions of good bacteria. It is easy to make, healthy and very tasty. Watch my tutorial on how to make a flavorous, yellow sauerkraut.

You need:

1 medium size head of white cabbage

1/2 pineapple

2 TBS of natural sea salt or Himalaya salt

2 TSP of turmeric powder

1/2 TSP of cinnamon

1 pc. fresh turmeric (ca. 5cm)

1 pc. fresh ginger (ca. 5cm)

  • Information about holistic nutritional aspects and a healthy and sustainable diet, including individual needs, preferences and requirements (weight loss, allergies, diets, etc.)
